What it does
Katana Perps brings the IDEX team’s exchange infrastructure into the Katana ecosystem. Its hybrid design keeps order matching and liquidation services offchain, while collateral custody and settlement use contracts on Katana. Fast order handling and onchain custody are separate parts of the architecture; neither should be mistaken for a fully onchain matching engine.
The account uses cross margin, so multiple positions draw on a shared collateral pool. That can make capital easier to allocate, but one losing position can also weaken the margin available to the others. The docs provide a wallet-exit mechanism and explain how trading keys are scoped, which are useful details to understand before relying on the main interface.
Which network does Katana Perps use?
The product is native to Katana, an Ethereum Layer 2. Its primary margin asset is vbUSDC, even where generic explanations use the shorthand USDC. Matching and liquidation infrastructure operate offchain; custody and settlement contracts are on Katana. Funding from another chain is an entry route, not a second execution deployment.
Where it stands out
- A documented hybrid architecture connects an established orderbook design with Katana-native collateral and settlement.
- Scoped, expiring trading keys can support mobile and programmatic access without granting those keys general asset-transfer authority.
- A published wallet-exit path gives users a recovery mechanism to study alongside the usual trading and withdrawal interface.

What you can do
- 01Cross-margin perpetual order books with vbUSDC as the primary collateral asset.
- 02Gasless order execution; deposits, withdrawals and bridging can still create network or service costs.
- 03APIs, SDKs and mobile access through paired trading keys.
- 04Points Season 1 is described as live in the current documentation. Weekly participation scoring and referrals do not establish a guaranteed conversion into tokens or cash.

Referral benefits and conditions
A referred user receives a 5% trading-fee discount for the lifetime of the referral relationship under the published rules. The referrer separately receives 10% of the referred user’s fees.
Use a referral link on first wallet connection or enter a code through the referral interface as documented. The current official link on ArbuzDAO has no referral code, so this discount is not yet applied by our link. No cash registration payment is documented.

Fees & availability
Fees and costs
The current default schedule is 0.005% maker and 0.02% taker. Market promotions or account-specific rates can lower the applicable fee. Trade execution is gasless, while moving collateral can incur gas or bridge costs. Funding and spread remain relevant; a referral discount changes commissions rather than removing these other costs.

Eligibility and availability
The launch terms exclude U.S. persons and residents. Cross margin exposes the shared account balance to the combined risk of its positions. Trading keys should be scoped and expired when no longer needed. Check the interface’s current jurisdiction and asset rules before funding.
